Nintendo finally got around to trademarking PictoChat yada yada yada. The patent for the program reveals a lot of interesting new information on what we might be able to expect from the application. Here are some of the new features PictoChat might include...

• Wireless Voice Mail Services
• Wireless Electronic Transmission of Voice Signals
• Online Videogame News and Hints
• Data Transfer
• Demo Downloads
• Message Boards

Whether or not all these features will be implemented is a whole other story. Hopefully Nintendo realizes the potential of PictoChat, and makes sure that all these features are included. More importantly though, they make sure that PictoChat is built into the system.

In any case, having those features in the DS would be remarkable.
