Paramount Pictures to develop "Fear & Respect film
Midway Games and Paramount Pictures sign a deal to bring John Singleton's upcoming game into the motion picture realm.

by | September 24, 2004

Hot on the heels of Midway’s preliminary announcement of its upcoming action-adventure game, Fear and Respect, plans are already in the works to develop a motion picture with Paramount Pictures.

As we reported earlier this week, the forthcoming title is currently being developed in collaboration with writer/director John Singleton, known for his work in such films including Shaft, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Baby Boy. Christine Peters ("How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days") will be collaborating with the game developer to produce the film.

"'Fear & Respect' brings the unique urban experience of South Central Los Angeles to the gaming world in a way that is both realistic and exciting," says Peters. "I'm thrilled to be working with Midway Games to turn this riveting game into an equally exciting major motion picture."

More details on the game will be announced in the near future. We’ll keep you posted.
